Verification of electromagnetic fields in the time domain
TECNOLOGICA and the University of Alcalá de Henares have jointly embarked on an ambitious project within the scope of electromagnetic field simulation and verification, consisting of the characterization of electromagnetic emissions in artificial satellites and compatibility among flight system equipment, utilizing new developments in the “time domain” for this as opposed to the conventional “frequency domain”. The evolution of communications technology toward ultra wideband and the availability of new measurement equipment at high frequencies, indicate that the measurement and simulation of electromagnetic emissions in the time domain may provide significant advantages when measuring and simulating electromagnetic irradiations characterized by a broad bandwidth, for desired as well as non-desired emissions. The developments proposed in this project are broadly applicable to other sectors as the telecommunications that tends to apply ultra wideband technologies, which are necessary to be measured in aspects of electromagnetic compatibility.

DPA rescind letter MIL-PRF-19500
The need to include DPA requirements in MIL-PRF-19500 for diodes and transistors has been discussed in the last years. DPA was included in group E as part of the qualification activities, it is also normally required for each particular lot and for any quality level by the space users (OEMs). After discussion based on Engineering Practices Study regarding Destructive Physical Analysis for Diodes and Transistors under the MIL-PRF-19500 programme, DSCC has decided to rescind the DPA requirement from all slash sheets of MIL-PRF-19500 and all quality levels. In consequence, OEMS that may require DPA testing should include this as part of their purchase order or contract to a third party or external labs.
